Kerry’s passion was teaching Spanish, experiencing Hispanic culture and traveling to Mexico and Spain. After very successful track and cross country seasons and graduation from Valley Center High School, Kerry earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Wichita State University and went on to teach Spanish at Derby High School and Butler Community College. Kerry will be missed by her beloved cat, Royal Grace, whom she adopted from the Wichita Humane Society. Kerry’s other interests included watching Dallas Cowboys football, KU men’s basketball, going to concerts, and spending time with family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Delwin and Marcene Locke; paternal grandparents, John and Wretha Locke; and maternal grandparents, Lee and Lennice Smith.
Kerry is survived by her sister, Marla (Mark) Ford of Newnan, GA; niece, Baylee (Zac) Engle of Tonganoxie, KS; nephew, Wes Ford of Loveland, CO; and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral Service for Kerry will be held 10:00AM, Thursday, January 5, 2023 with visitation 1 hour prior, at Lakeview Funeral Home, 12100 E. 13th Street N., Wichita, Kansas 67206.
Burial will take place following the service at Natoma Cemetery, 402 N. 4th St, Natoma, Kansas 67651
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Kerry's memory can be made to the National MS Society and/or the Wichita Humane Society.
