Karin attended Madonna High School, where she graduated with the class of 1969. After high-school, she married the love of her life, Jim Kirk on November 3, 1972. They have four children, Jennifer, Seth, Corey, and Chad. Family to Karin was the most important part of her life; including her granddaughters, Isabella and Alexis; her son-in-law, Jared; along with her four-legged buddy, Jake.
Karin was a devout Catholic. In her younger years, she attended St. Patrick's Catholic Church of Wichita. She raised her family while attending St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. At St. Elizabeth's during the 90's and early 2000's, she was a member of the Pastoral Counsel and an active volunteer within the church.
In 1986, she started with the Wichita Bar Association, where she began as a part-time administrative assistant. Karin was a dedicated employee spending 34 years with the Wichita Bar Association. She served in several positions including becoming Executive Director in 1998. She was a member of multiple committees and developed many lifelong friendships along the way. She retired in July of 2020.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; and her brother-in-law, Bill Myers.
She is survived by: her husband, Jim; her children, Jennifer (Jared) Weinman, Seth Kirk, Corey Kirk, and Chad Kirk; her grandchildren, Isabella and Alexis Weinman; her siblings, Kathie Myers, Mark (Sheryl) Schiffler, Ellen (David) Horsch, and Joanie (Joe) Nicholas; along with many beloved nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, Kansas 67209.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 9:30 AM on Friday, May 17, 2024, with the Mass of Christian Burial following at 10:00 AM, both at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 645 North 119th Street West, Wichita, Kansas 67235. Interment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, Garden of Christus, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, Kansas 67209.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with: St. Jude Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105 or to Lymphoma Foundation of America,1100 North Main Street, Suite 110, Ann Arbor, Michigan 48104.
