Hughes, Jerry “Sandy”, 59, retired Communications 1st Sgt. in U.S. Army, passed away September 28, 2011. Jerry was preceded in death by his father, James Hughes. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Pontip Hughes, of Haysville; sons, Jimmy (Tonya) Hughes of Haysville and Johnny Hughes of Wichita; his mother, Alberta Hughes of Collinsville, OK; sisters, Sharon (Jack) Linzy, Dolores (Robert) Scott and Ruth (Jim) Corn all of Collinsville, OK; grandchildren, Holly and Ian Hughes, and numerous other relatives and friends as well as his dogs, Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan. Memorials can be made to Disabled American Veterans in lieu of flowers. Service to be held at Resthaven Mortuary, Saturday, October 1, 2011 at 1:00 p.m.
