It's been a while since I've written to you & so much positive change has happened in my life. As of March 24th, you have your 9th great grandchild & 8th great grandson. He is so perfect & I just know you would have loved to meet him. Please continue to watch over us & guide us. I will be by soon to introduce your great grandson to you. We love you!

Dad its been 6 years without you. I miss you so much. Iowa graduated and I know you were there looking down watching him. I wish you were here to help guide him for his future. I love you so much. Aunt Keitha passed on Valentine's Day, now Macy crossed the rainbow bridge today. As much as I miss them, I pray that you keep grandma safe for many more years. I worry about her so much. I won't be able to live life without her. Please, I am asking you & God to keep her mind & body full of youth. 

Grief does mysterious things to the mind & body. I'm so worried. I can't live life with both of you gone, so please keep her strong.

I miss you so much. More than any words could ever ever explain. We are reaching 5 years since you left & my heart aches the same. So much has changed & I have been so blessed the last 2 years. I went from grief & loss, to heart break & divorce, to rising & genuine happiness. 

I just know you've looked out for me, prayed for me, & pulled me through all the hard hands I've been dealt. 

As I've gotten older & reflected on all I've gone through, it's made me realize how thankful I am for all that you & grandma have done for us. I never had the opportunity to thank you face to face but just know I knew even if I didn't say it.

I can't believe in 4 short months, it will be 5 years since you were taken from us physically.  You will forever be in my heart & on mind. I'm so thankful that you taught me how a man should provide for his family & I can promise you I have found that in Cire. He takes such amazing care of Isaac & I & I know you sent him to us. Today has been harder than I expected. While I was celebrating your life & grieving yet another birthday you are not here, life was taking another person I still needed. I hope you are up there showing grandma Carol the ropes & how amazing heaven really is. Take care of her please.

Things have gotten so, so much better the past few months. I'm 100% certain that you brought Cire into my life. He is everything you could have ever wanted for me. He is my best friend, accepts me for who I am &loves me unconditionally.  I am so thankful for him.

It's a few days shy of 4 years since you left us. My heart has been in a million pieces for weeks. I'll never forget the days leading up to you leaving.

It's been so long since we've spoken. I miss you so much. 2019 has been anything but fair. From a miscarriage, to divorce, moving and now a potential career change, it has been a struggle to say the least. I wish you were here every single day to guide me, give me advice, to hear your laugh, hug you and hear you say you love me. 3 years has been 3 years too long. I wish I could just hear you say you love me one last time. I have so much to tell you, for starters- I have an amazing best friend. I'm sure you know all about him and all he's done for me, you can see what's going on from heaven. I'm not sure if you, God, or both of you sent him to me for positive guidance but he is everything I've ever needed. He is my best friend in every aspect and definitely one of a kind and I could not be more thankful for him .  He is and has been my saving grace in so many ways. I wish you both could have met because you truly would have enjoyed him. Please pray for me and that there are many great things coming for me.

I went to decorate your headstone yesterday. I put some red cardinals around your flowers and headstone. There's a saying that says, "when cardinals appear, angels are near". I broke into a million pieces yesterday as I was leaving from seeing you. I miss you so much. I'm not ready to celebrate my first Christmas without you. Instead of feeling joy, I'm full of sadness and regret that I never got to say goodbye. I wish I could hug you right this very moment. My heart hurts with Christmas around the corner. It will be the first Christmas without you and it hurts so much. I bought myself, mom and Tara a memorial ornament with your picture on it for our Christmas trees. This year I won't need an angel at the top of my tree because I already have one watching over me. I love and miss you everyday and I know this pain and emptiness will never get easier, I'll just learn to live with it more and more. I wonder what you're doing in heaven and all the jokes your cracking with Jesus. I love you grandpa. I'll be by to decorate your headstone soon.

Every possible song that reminds me of you, played on the radio today at work. I feel like that was your sign to me. I never thought that I could feel happy today, but I am. Tomorrow I will be 24 and it will be the first birthday of many that I will spend without you. It will be 7 months since you went home. My heart is broken that you won't be here. I know you're looking down on me and you're still present, but I would give anything to hear your voice one last time. You will be heavy on my heart tomorrow as you usually are. I still haven't brought myself to delete your phone number out of my phone. I just want to call it in hopes that you will answer. Brandon's dad told me what you said to him at our wedding, that Brandon was a good kid and you knew that he would take care of Isaac and I. Brandon is a great husband and man and he does everything he can for Isaac and I. My one birthday wish for tomorrow is that I feel your presence, sometime throughout the day. Anything to let me know you're still here. I love you always.

Today, Brandon, Isaac, Tara,  Aaron, mom, Iowa and myself came to visit you today. Happy Thanksgiving grandpa! I love you so much. Brandon left a silver and gold bullet at your grave from his time at the shooting range. He wishes he could have had time with you at the gun range, but God called you home too soon. We miss you everyday. Today was good for the most part, but it would have been better if you were there. I miss you so much.

Happy Thanksgiving dad.  I miss and love you so much. The holidays just won't be the same with you not here.  Iowa will be 13 tomorrow and he's definitely getting taller.  Another milestone that your missing but I know your watching him from heaven.  We're all coming to your grave site later on today to see you. Things have been very hard for me since you've been gone and I know you love to give advice lol. But this is a time where I really need to know what to do.  I love you dad.  We're all getting together at Kayla's today and to celebrate her and Iowa's birthday today just wishing you was here with us all to enjoy the day with us. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and it will be anything but normal without you there. I have a special place in my living room dedicated to you and your life. It's a constant reminder that even though you're not here physically, you're still present. Even though I miss you terribly, I will give thanks to having you in my life and that you made it to see me get married. I love you and I will be out to see you tomorrow grandpa.

Last night Brandon, Isaac and I went to visit grandma. It was the first time I've been inside your house since the funeral. I walked around the house as Brandon and grandma talked and just took everything in. I even went into your bedroom just so I could smell your scent again. I miss you more than words can say. I went to see you today like I said I would. Your headstone is beautiful, everything I imagined it would be. Once Brandon, Isaac and I left the cemetery, all I could think about was your funeral and how beautiful everything was. In some ways I feel content now that your resting place is complete. Tomorrow I will finally go see your headstone since its arrival a few days ago. I feel as though it will be a bittersweet moment for me, almost like a reality check that you actually are gone. But it's also a sign that you're resting place is final and complete. I have dreamed of you the last few nights, from the day you left, to your funeral. I'm not sure why but it's like a movie playing over and over again in my head. I miss you so much. I can't wait to go see you tomorrow. I love you.

I would give anything in this world to have one hour with you. To talk, ask for guidance, hug you and hear your laugh one last time. This year of firsts have been very hard on me. How Brandon puts up with me I have no idea. You no longer being here hits me at the most random times, I feel like I'm on a roller coaster I can't get off of. As the holidays come closer, I often think of how I don't want them without you. This isn't how I pictured celebrating and all I want is for you to be here physically. Life just doesn't make any sense without you and I feel terribly lost. I struggle daily with all of this and I pray that one day it will all get easier. The girls often ask of you and Isaac often sees things that remind him of you. I'm glad my children knew you and we're given the privilege to love you, even if only for a short amount of time. If there's anything I could ask for grandpa, it's that you give me strength and guidance to make it through the upcoming days, months and years without you. One thing is for certain for me and it's that nothing will ever be the same without you. Please protect grandma and make sure that she's always okay. I don't visit your grave often because it still feels so empty without a headstone in place. But I promise to come see and spend time with you soon. For me, this guest book is my outlet, my place to vent and tell you my thoughts and feelings. I miss you so much. I love you.

As the girl's birthday party approaches, they keep asking me why grandpa cherry had to go to heaven  They still don't understand. I'm so heartbroken that Anabel won't be able to sit next to you and tell you stories for hours  we love and miss you everyday. I hope one day this gets easier because I'm still so broken.
