She is preceded in death by her husband and one true love of 57 years, Jim Baker; parents Carl and Gerda Wilson; brothers, Carl Jr. and Alan; sister, Kathryn “Skippy” Schroeder; Son, Darren J Baker
Daughter, Darla E Cook and grandson Jesse Moody.
Jan was an avid artist where her oils won many awards. She loved to cook and bake and was a passionate reader. She loved her country and studied to become a WW2 scholar as she remembered the day that the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. Many hurting souls came by her home to sit and share with her, which always ended in prayer.
Janice is survived by her daughter, Debra Baker Gilpin (Kenny); her sister, Marilyn George; granddaughter, Elisha Roberts; grandson, Andrew Baker; grandson, MSgt James Cook (Sara); grandsons Dustin Baker and Jacob Moody; granddaughters, Caroline Stegman and Betsy Roach; and twelve great grandchildren.
Services will be held at Valley Center Christian Church, 1801 East 5th Street, Valley Center, KS, on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at 10:00am. The family will have a visitation on Friday, September, 2nd, from 5:00pm – 7:00pm at Resthaven Mortuary. Two memorials have been established with Valley Center Christian Church Building Fund and Hope Church Building Fund (2000 S Hillside, Wichita, KS) to honor the work in God’s house.
