Janet Sue (Custenborder) Rice-Garrison, age 82, of Topeka, Kansas passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2020. Janet was born January 15, 1938 in Topeka, Kansas to Rose (Donnelly) Custenborder and Franklin Custenborder.
Janet grew up in Topeka, attended catholic school and worked in her family's floral business. Janet graduated from Hayden High School; she married her first husband, Dale Rice, May 18, 1957 and had six children; she worked for Southwestern Bell and Santa Fe Memorial Hospital for many years. She later married Ralph Garrison, June 26th 1987, Wichita, KS; they worked together in real estate property improvement and farm management. Janet loved watching and playing sports, she was a talented, award winning floral designer and she was a gifted seamstress.
Janet was preceded in death by son, Mark Rice; husband Ralph Garrison; three brothers Gregory, Edward and George Custenborder and her parents, Frank and Rose Custenborder.
Survivors include three daughters, Christina Patty (John), Wichita, Terese Rice, Topeka, and Marla Smith (Chris), Topeka; two sons, Daniel Rice, Topeka and Derrick Rice, Topeka; brother John; sisters Connie, Rosemary, and Stephanie; grandchildren Melissa, Jennifer, Amber, April, Shawn, Ashley, Amanda, Jacob, Stephen, and Adam; 12 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Burial and graveside service will be held for immediate family only (due to Covid-19 restrictions) in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Topeka Ks.
