Price, James Elwood, 88, of Wichita, Kansas, died April 9, 2014. Funeral service at 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 14 at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 W. Hwy 54, Wichita. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to Harden Hospice, 2622 W. Central, Suite 501, Wichita, Kans. 67203, for the compassionate care extended to Jim and the family. Jim was born Dec. 3, 1925, in Anthony, Kansas. He served in the Army Air Force from 1944 to 1946 where he was a Corporal and armor-gunner on a B-24 bomber. Jim worked for Beal Office Supply for 46 years, retiring in 1992 as Sales Manager and Vice President. He was a Life Member of the Disabled American Veterans and a member of Jaycees, Wichita Independent Business Association and Moose. Jim had a love for nature, the outdoors and animals of any kind and especially loved to garden. His favorite books were the King James Version of the Bible and the Farmer’s Almanac. He is survived by his wife of one month short of 67 years, Betty; daughters, Janna Dillon (Ron), Belton, Mo., Lynda Johnson (Greg), Arlington, Wash., and Carol Wooten (Gil), Wichita; five grandsons, James (Cindy) Dillon, Jeff (Dawn) Wooten, Jon (Amy) Wooten, Mike (Wendy) Prater and Shawn Koster; three great grandsons and two great granddaughters; sister, Carol Rankin; brother-in-law, Mack O’Dell; sister-in-law, Pat Price; brother, Phil (Darlene); numerous nieces and nephews.
