Born August 29, 1932 in Hominy, OK to Jacob Peter and Ester Rose (Latta) Doerr. Jim served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War stationed at Camp Carson in Colorado Springs, CO and later at Fort Sill in Lawton, OK. He returned to Wichita and resumed working at Boeing, retiring in 1998 with 46 years of service. He most recently retired in October from McGinty Machine after 20 years.
Preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Jessie Irene (Buckley) Doerr, his parents, sisters Laura Thompson, Ora Swink, Shirley Kennedy, Virginia Lemaster, Norma Casey, Stella Doerr, and brother Robert Doerr.
Survivors include his daughter Karen R. Doerr of Wichita; son, James “Ed” (Tami) Doerr of Wichita; grandsons, Jacob Doerr of Cleveland, OH; Braden Doerr of Wichita and Lane Doerr of Wichita; brother, Paul (Pam) Doerr of Rockville, UT.
