Henry Milford Copeland was born May 22, 1918, at Idana, Kansas to Venna McMahan and Willard Copeland passed away April 14, 2014.
When Henry was 3 his father died and his mother was married to Raymond Milroy. He graduated from Clay Center H.S. in 1935. He married his high school sweetheart, Ruby Avery, June 1, 1938. Happily married for 75+ years. He served in the US Army during WWII in the 13th Armored Division in Europe where he received one battle star. Henry served in both the Missouri & Kansas National Guards. He co-founded Central Office & Supply in Clay Center in 1948. He worked as an accountant for his entire career, becoming an Enrolled Agent. Henry joined the Lions Club in 1948. He held all offices of his Local Lions Club and several state offices. He served as District Governor of Lions Club International in 1977-78. Henry & Ruby enjoyed traveling to many Lions International conventions. He is survived by his wife Ruby, 3 children, 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
