Gary Hunter, 73, semi-retired furniture builder/upholsterer and owner of Hunter's Upholstery, passed away June 26, 2017 after a brief battle with cancer. Gary was a master craftsman who could honestly do "everything but sheetrock." He was a lifelong outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking, and spending time with family at the cabin he built near Creede, Colorado. Gary was an enthusiastic Shocker basketball fan for over 20 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ludwic and Kathryn (Jarmer) Hunter. Survived by his loving wife of nearly 53 years, Kathy; children, David of Pueblo, CO, Holly of Cave Creek, AZ, Jill of Wichita; grandchildren, Holden Hoffman of Scottsdale, AZ, Sam and Jack Chartier of Cave Creek, AZ, Gavin Hunter of Wichita; siblings, Jim (Bev) Hunter of Derby, KS, Karen (Dennis) White of Wichita, Connie (Tom) Belton of Wichita, Dallas (Brenda) Hunter of Troy, VA, Judy (Bill) Lander of Wichita; many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Rosary Thursday, 7 p.m. at DeVorss Flanagan-Hunt Mortuary. Funeral Mass Friday, 10 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church.
