He was born June 11, 1934 in Emporia, Kansas to Floyd A. Hagins Sr. and Harriett (Yenzer) Hagins. He was raised by his loving grandmother, Margaret.
Floyd met the love of his life, Barbara, while working on a job at the Broadview Hotel. For Floyd, it was love at first sight, little did he know he was taking on a lifetime commitment of 4 bonus children.
He loved hunting, fishing, golfing and farming. He enjoyed puzzles, dominos, storytelling and playing with his cat, Stormy. He will be dearly missed.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Barbara Hagins; his parents; daughters, Sheila Schwartz and Cheryl Stegman; son-in-laws: Bill Miller, Steve Schwartz and Mike Stegman.
Floyd is survived by his children: Terry Miller, Eddie (Chris) Engle; grandchildren: Kimberly Crouch, Amanda Henton, Bryan Engle, Justin Engle, Heather Staples, Courtney Barksdale, Troy Schwartz, Chris Stegman and Ben Stegman; 18 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and his special cousins Mick and Wilma Bradbury.
A visitation for Floyd will be held Tuesday, December 31, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM with a funeral service immediately to follow at 1:00 PM and burial to follow in the Garden of Gethsemane, all at Resthaven Mortuary and Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11800 W. Hwy 54, Wichita, KS 67209.
