It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dora Murguia, who left us peacefully on November 9, 2024, at the age of 93. Born in Blackwell and raised in Wichita, Dora was a beloved resident of Wichita, Kansas, where she touched the lives of many with her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love.
Dora was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. Her life was a testament to the values of family, faith, and community. She was known for her warm smile, generous spirit, and the ability to make everyone feel welcome. Dora’s home was always a place of comfort and joy, filled with laughter, delicious food, and the company of loved ones.
She is survived by her children Beverly and Phillip, grandchildren Erica-Dustin, Juan, Monique-Erik, Jorge-Mary, and great-grandchildren Jacob, Esau, Sophie, Lilliana, Eli, Rory, Roberta, Joaquin, Josie, and Leo who will forever cherish the memories of her love and guidance. She is preceded in death by her parents Issac and Dolores Hernandez, husband Porfino Murguia, Brothers Alfonso and Nicolas Hernandez, and her sisters Emily Rosales, Jenny Rosales, Connie Rosales, Pauline Mata, Lupe Flores, and granddaughter Marisa Murguia. Dora’s legacy is one of strength, compassion, and resilience, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 11800 US-54, Wichita, KS 67209. Friends and family are invited to attend and celebrate Dora’s remarkable life.
