He was a wonderful man who loved his family and friends, and he will be deeply missed. Donald retired from Southwestern Bell in Wichita. He loved to cook, and was especially good at making fudge. Unlike many cooks, he would share his recipe, and his fudge as well. He was an associate member of the Adorers of the Blood of Christ for over 30 years, and he used to be a Shriner as well. As the holidays approach, he will be missed playing Santa.
He was in charge of hospitality at Prime Timers of Wichita. He was responsible for making sure cards were mailed for Thank Yous, Birthdays, etc. And he always had to be busy. He was a member of Shepherd Center of West Wichita, and worked in the cafe as a volunteer.
Donald was also a volunteer for a long time with Botanica, ConnectCare and Center of Hope. He enjoyed going on trips through Village Travel and loved bus trips.
Donald is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, John Jacobs.
He is survived by his life partner of 35 years, Martin Mendoza; sisters, Phyllis Thompson, Margaret Catlin, Faye Frazer; and many nieces and nephews.
