Donald Charles Arnold, 85, passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at his home in Wichita, Kansas, while being surrounded by his family. He was born February 11, 1938 in Bay City, Michigan, the son of Herbert and Regina (McPeak) Arnold.
Donald attended St. Mary's High School in Bay City, Michigan, and graduated with the class of 1957. While in high-school, he met the love of his life, Suzanne Jane Chambers, and the two were married on August 8, 1959.
Donald joined the U.S. Army in 1957 where he served in the infantry, and was stationed in Baumholder, Germany. After his return home from the Army, he went back and received his Associate's Degree from Delta College in Bay City, Michigan. Donald worked many years at United Airlines as an Agent, retiring in 1999.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; his son, David Arnold; his brother, Richard Arnold; and his sister, Elaine McConnell.
He is survived by: his loving wife of 64 years, Suzanne; his children, Paul (Angie) Arnold and Julie (Tim) Brant; his grandchildren: Jared (Kylee) Brant, Megan Brant, Natalie Brant, Andrew Brant, Justin (Ashli) Arnold, Alyssa Arnold, and Ryan Arnold; along with nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.
The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be 9:30 A.M. on Thursday, September 14, 2023; with the Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 A.M., both at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 645 N.119th St. W., Wichita, Kansas, with Father Jon Tolberd officiating. Inurnment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, in the Garden of Freedom.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made out to Wichita Animal Action League, P.O. Box 21401, Wichita, Kansas 67208.
