Daniel was born on March 2, 1951 into a growing family which eventually comprised of 11 brothers and sisters in total. He graduated from Chaplain Kapaun Memorial High School, received his law degree from Washburn University, and practiced as a defense attorney in Wichita for many years.
Dan was a man who was rich in family, friendships, and humorous stories. He had a deep love for people and could always be found sharing a laugh, a tasty dish, or a folksy life lesson whenever he could. He loved music and was never shy about sharing the deeper meaning to a favorite song with any ear he could catch. He was fond of camping, hiking and whitewater canoeing and was always interested in sharing those experiences with others.
Dan loved to teach and help others whenever he could, and was a big supporter of youth sports. He was also a die hard Shockers basketball fan as well as an avid pigeon racer and gardener.
His life is a testament to his gregarious nature and his love for his children and his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers Samuel and Ronald.
He is survived by his daughters Leslie and Tara, and his sons Jon, Kelly, William and Andrew; and his 11 grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers Richard, Edward, Frank and Benjamin Joseph, as well as his sisters Jeanine, Teresa, Mary and Marguerite Jacqueline.
Services will be held Saturday, December 31, 2022 at St. Jude Catholic Church, 3030 N. Amidon Ave., Wichita, KS 67204. Rosary will begin at 9:15 a.m. and the Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Daniel's memory to a memorial that will be established in the near future.
