Denton, Bruce Wayne, 89, of Wichita, Kansas and resident of Georgetown Village, passed away Tues. Feb. 21, 2017 in Wichita. Bruce was born on Aug. 28, 1927 in Cordell, OK the son of Romie and Gladys Denton. Bruce and Sarah fell in love at first sight in grade school and were together until her passing in 1998. They were married for 52 years. Bruce served in the United States Navy during WWII following his service he was employed by Boeing in Wichita. He retired after 38 years with a career in Industrial Engineering. After his retirement he found a new passion volunteering daily at Botanica Gardens in Wichita and he also received the golden star reward for his dedicated service of over 10,000 hours. Bruce was very involved with his children’s and grandchildren lives attending all of their activities and served as Boy Scout Leader and Junior Achievement. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, bothers, M.L., Romie, Jr., and Don Denton, daughter-in-law, Kay Denton. Survivors include his loving children, Kurt Denton of Wichita, Nancy (Terry) George of Wichita and New Bern, NC, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Austin (Brittany) George and their children Colton and Kennedy, Paige (Josh) Ramsey and their children Skylar, Pierce and Charlie, Adam Denton, Megan Denton all of Wichita. Interment was held at Lakeview Cemetery, Wichita. Celebration of Life services will be 3:00 p.m. on Fri Mar. 3, 2017 at Botanica Gardens, 701 Amidon St., Wichita 67203. Memorials can be made to the Botanica Gardens of Wichita.
