Betty was born on August 31, 1932 and raised in Centralia, Illinois.
She married the love of her life, Maurice V. Brinkley on July 5th, 1951 in Wichita Falls, TX. Mike was in the Air Force and served in the Korean War. He retired an Air Force Veteran. They had two children, a son, Phillip M Brinkley and a daughter Marla Kay Spear.
Betty was a homemaker and foster parent to 19 children. She was a co-owner of “Mike and Betty’s” Carry Out Restaurant in Haysville, KS. She enjoyed traveling, camping, and boating. She lived a full life of 91 years, when her spirit released from this earth on September 28th, 2023 to go home with her Lord and Savior.
She is preceded in death by her husband Maurice V. Brinkley, foster son Shawn Thompson, mother, father, and three brothers.
Survivors include son, Phillip Brinkley (Margaret) of Rose Hill, daughter, Marla Kay Spear (Eli) of Wichita, and several grandchildren, Allen Brinkley, Daimon Huddleston, Colton Long, Brian Brinkley, Jamie Woodall and 8 great children, and 3 great great grandchildren.
