Esch, Dr. A. Keith, 80, passed away peacefully February 28, 2010. He spent his entire professional career as an educator with USD 259. He served as a teacher, principal, Division Director of Personnel Services, and Assistant Superintendent for Personnel. He received many professional honors among them was a term as National President of the Association of School Personnel Administrators. Keith was a cherished husband, beloved father, and grandfather, and a good friend and brother. He was an avid woodworker, loved reading, history, music and was a car buff. He is preceded in death by his son Jeffery Esch, parents William and Polly Esch, brothers William, Karl, and sister Norma Wade, and step-son Brian Karstensen. Survivors are wife Bernice; former wife Mary Ann Esch; daughter Jenny Esch Detra (Rod) of Wichita; son Joseph (Jennifer) Esch of Missouri City, TX; step-son John Karstensen (Sherry) of Wichita; brother Robert (Opal) Esch of Coffeyville, KS; grandchildren Andrew, Grayson, Grant, Lauren, Ashley, Heather, Jonathan, Jarrett, Shavon, and Chasity and 4 great grandchildren. Funeral service is 1:00 PM Saturday, March 6 at Ascension Lutheran Church, 842 N. Tyler. A memorial has been established with the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson Research, Church Street Station, P.O. Box 780, NY, NY 10008, in memory of Dr. A. Keith Esch. .
