June 2, 1934 - September 25, 2024
Waunda Faye Robison was born June 2, 1934 to Harvey M. Robison and Jessie Mae Dillard Robison in Wichita Falls, Texas.
She grew up surrounded by lots of Robison and Dillard cousins. In December of 1949 she saw a handsome Airman walking downtown and a friend arranged for them to meet. Waunda was on her lunch hour but as their lunch together was coming to an end Peter asked her to stay so she quit her job, knowing instantly that they were meant for each other.
Waunda and Peter married July 5, 1952 and after a few months finishing his enlistment in Brooklyn, New York, they returned to Wichita Falls to raise their family. They shared a happy, loving home with their daughters before tragically losing Peter in 1973.
In 1977 Waunda married Henry Baltine and they retired to Lake Arrowhead in 1995, where they enjoyed the quiet country life of fishing and walks with their much loved husky, Nicki.
Waunda lost Henry in 2013, after which she moved to Norman Oklahoma to live near her daughter, Susan, and her family. Even though she loved her new home and being close to her Oklahoma family, she remained a proud Texan.
She was celebrated at her 90th birthday on June 2nd with family and friends. There was a "90th Birthday" sign in her yard, and typical of Waunda, she turned the "9" upside down to look like it said "60th". Her dry humor and sweet spirit will be missed.
Waunda was preceded in death by her husbands, Peter Ostapchuk and Henry W. Baltine, her parents Harvey and Jessie Mae Robison, her daughter Christy Ostapchuk, and her beloved sister Dorrethea Allen.
She is survived by her daughters Susan ( John) Beck of Norman, Oklahoma and Cynthia (Michael) Fullarton of Richmond, Texas, and her much loved grandchildren, Carissa (Brian) Collins, Lesha Maag, Erin ( Scott) Allen, and Brian Fullarton. Her great-grandchildren, Cooper, Mia, Aubrey, and Nolan brought her joy every day.
After a lifetime of love, caring, and unwavering support, Waunda's final gift to her family was to assure them not to worry - she had a good life and she loved them all.
A graveside service for Waunda will be held Friday, October 4, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Cemetery, 2123 Santa Fe St, Wichita Falls, TX 76309.
