Richard was born on November 17, 1945 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania to the late Donald and Theresa Driscoll. On February 2, 1966 he married his wife Caroline Keller in Hanover Township, Pennsylvania.
On September 27, 1965 Richard enlisted in the United States Air Force as a Liquid Fuels System Maintenance Technician at McGuire AFB, New Jersey and Hickam AFB in Hawaii. He then moved to Production Control Superintendent and Mechanical Superintendent at both Dover AFB, Delaware and Hickam AFB in Hawaii and then to Mechanical Manager at Sheppard AFB, Texas. In all encompassing 23 years of dedicated Military Service. During his service he was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, The Goddard Medal and was named Senior Non-Commissioned Officer of the year in 1986. Upon retirement he served as a Civil Service Mechanical Project Inspector from 1992 up to his retirement in 2009.
Richard was a lifelong sportsman and participated in bowling, tennis and softball but his true passions were fishing and golfing.
Richard is preceded in death by his father Donald, his mother Theresa and his sister Mary Berger. He is survived by Caroline his wife of 56 years, his son Richard Jr. and his wife Tasha and their daughters Kiley and Alexandra; his daughter Ardenne Williams and her husband David and their daughters Heather and Bailey; his sister Theresa Donnelly and husband Joe and also by his brother Donald Driscoll.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at the Hampton-Vaughan Crestview Funeral Home located at 1917 Archer City Highway Wichita Falls, TX.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls in memory of Richard.
