Mitchell W. Gee, 80, of Wichita Falls passed away Saturday, November 13, 2010. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home with Anthony Gee officiating. The U. S. Navy Honor Guard will render military funeral honors. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 7:30 Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Gee was born October, 2, 1930 in Burkburnett, Texas to Willis N. and Cletis Dorothy (Matthews) Gee and they preceded him in death. Mitch was formerly of Breckenridge, Tx. for 16 years before moving to Wichita Falls four years ago. He was a member of Gunsight Baptist Church. Mitch served in the U. S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a welder until his retirement in 1980 and was a member of Operating Engineers. Among his hobbies was building racecars, gold prospecting, fishing and he especially loved to write poetry. Mitch was a loving husband and wonderful father.
He married Dorothy “Dot” Gee in Gunsight, Tx. On March 24, 1990 and she survives him. Other survivors include his children, Judith Stark and husband Ron of Kansas, Deborah Gee and husband, Glen Laughlin, California, Candice Gee, California, Lonnie Roberson and wife, Terry, Breckenridge, Tx., Kathy Vassar and husband, Roger, Iowa Park; 16 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; sister, Jeanne Davis and husband, Baxter, Las Vegas, Nv.; brother Willis Ray Gee and wife, Ann, Breckenridge, Tx. and finally, his beloved cat, Polly. He was preceded in death by a son, David Gee, his first wife, Lois Gee and a brother, Kenneth Gee.
In lieu of usual remembrances, the family suggests memorial donations to Hospice of Wichita Falls, 4909 Johnson Rd., 76310.
