Mary E. Cook

Mary E. Cook, 84 of Wichita Falls, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 in Wichita Falls. She was born on December 20, 1928 in Wichita Falls to the late G. C. Gambill and Helen Young Gambill. On November 26, 1949 she married Forrest D. Cook in Wichita Falls. He preceded her in death on September 11, 2002. Mrs. Cook was an educator in public and private schools and was a member of Floral Heights Methodist Church. She was a member of P.E.O., Floral Heights Chancellor Choir and the Oratorio Chorus. She loved playing Bridge and had knitted over 300 Christmas stockings as baby and wedding gifts.

She is survived by three children, Candy Cook of Wichita Falls, Melissa Allen of Forney, Texas and Nancy Cook of Wichita Falls; grandchildren, Thomas Poston and wife Angela, Carol Richardson and husband Ray, Josiah Allen and wife Wennie and Elspeth Allen; great grandchildren, Tyler, Tirsah, Reece, Emma, Taylor and Pierce; nephews, Mike, Pat and Tim. She was preceded in death by one sister, Sarah Ecternoch and Sarah’s husband, Bill.

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, November 30, 2013 at the Floral Heights Methodist Church Chapel with Rev. Merwin Turner officiating. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Friday evening at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Good Samaritan Fund at House of Hope.
