Jose Samuel Holgin

Sammy Holgin, 52, of Wichita Falls died Wednesday February 8, 2012 at a local hospital. Funeral services have been scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 11, 2012 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church officiated by Father John Pacheco. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park directed by Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home.

Sammy was born September 8, 1959 in Wichita Falls to Paul and Ysabel Perez Holgin. He married Maribel Martinez October 27, 1984 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and together they have three children. He was so proud to be recently certified as a minister through the Pope John Paul II Catholic Institute. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church where he was very involved in the Santo Nombre Men’s group and Cursilio De Christiandad. He loved to cook for his family, especially on his smoker.

Mr. Holgin is preceded in death by his parents, Paul Holgin, Sr. and Ysabel Holgin; sisters, Mary Elizabeth Hernandez, Antonia Holgin; and brother, Guadalupe Holgin.

Survivors include his loving wife of 27 years, Maribel Holgin; three children, Samantha E. Holgin, Robert S. Holgin, Judy J. Holgin, all of Wichita Falls; sisters and brother-in-law, Mary Jane and Steve Sigala of Wichita Falls; Judy Holgin of Dallas, TX; brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul and Rosario Holgin, Jr. of Wichita Falls, Robert and Beatrice Holgin of Fort Worth, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, February 10, 2012 at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home with a rosary and vigil beginning at 7:00 p.m. officiated by Deacon Anastasio Perez.
