Joe Donald Hamilton, 84, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours on Tuesday, February 21, 2023. Joe was born on March 13, 1938 in Wichita Falls to Joe Fisher Hamilton and Lucille Collier Hamilton.
He was a 1957 graduate of Wichita Falls High School and attended Midwestern State. He served his country for 4 years in the United States Air Force and 2 years in the United States Army Reserve.
He and Elizabeth Beach Hamilton were married on March 24, 1962, in Branford, Connecticut and then located to Wichita Falls where they resided for almost 61 years together. Joe worked for many years as a Civil Engineer for Civil Service at Sheppard Air Force Base. He was an instructor in surveying and drafting. One of his proudest projects was designing the pedestal for one of the many aircraft that are displayed at Sheppard Air Force Base.
Joes loves were Elizabeth and his family, his Honda Goldwing, cars, traveling the west in their RV, fishing for the native cutthroat trout in Yellowstone National Park and exploring the mountains around Estes Park, CO.
He was preceded in death by his father Joe Fisher, his mother Lucille, his brother Jerry Lynn and his son-in-law David Boese.
He is survived by his wife of almost 61 years, Elizabeth, his daughter Brenda Boese of Midlothian, TX. 3 granddaughters Ashley Roberts - Terry and husband Jordan of Waxahachie, TX, Mariah Sutherland and husband Stuart of Wichita Falls, TX, Shea Kells - Murphy of Dallas, TX. 3 great-grandchildren Kaid and Lizzie Sutherland of Wichita Falls, TX and Knox Terry of Waxahachie, TX.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, March 1st at 2:00 P.M. at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Memorial Park in the garden of the Four Seasons.
In lieu of flowers donations would be appreciated at the Wichita County Humane Society.
