Glendon Ray Forrester was born July 1, 1933 in Duncan, OK to Otto and Ester Forrester, the first of three sons. Glen graduated from Dumas High School and soon entered the U.S. Army during the Korean era. He served in Germany working in heavy artillery. After his military service he came home and married Mary Jo Taylor. They had 3 children Glenda, Steve and Brian. Glen worked hard and was dedicated to providing for his family. He worked in the oil field and was well respected by all who knew him. After his marriage to Mary Jo, he married Shirley and they lived in Bowie. Glen enjoyed his job in Bowie managing the Bowie truck stop. He was very friendly and enjoyed people always showing compassion and interest in people’s lives. After Shirley died, Glen eventually met Ruth from Quanah and they married and he moved to Quanah where again, Glen met new friends. Ruth passed away and one trip from Quanah Glen headed to Bowie thinking of moving back to Bowie. But God had other plans from him! He stopped at a convenience store on the edge of Wichita Falls and his life was about to change again. Glen was very outgoing and talkative and there was a woman there who was also very talkative and them started talking and didn’t stop talking for 20 years. Both later agreed that God had certainly orchestrated their meeting, having both in the right place at the right time, each losing their spouses. So eventually Glen married Linda in the home of Tommy and Charl Bragg on May 15, 2005. Years of happiness followed and God had his hand on Glen and Linda. Glen was a faithful church member with Linda at First Baptist Church of Lakeside City then eventually at South West Baptist Church where he faithfully attended until his passing.
Glen is survived by his wife Linda, his daughter Glenda Lawrence and husband and stop sons Chad and Cliff Snyder. Brothers Ed and Gerald Forrester. He is also survived by a grandson Matthew, two granddaughters Brookelyn and Jacey, and great grandson Hayden. Glen is preceded in death by his parents, his two sons Steve and Brian and his former spouses Mary Jo, Shirley and Ruth.
