Dorothy Jean Bales, 85, of Holliday, passed away on Monday, December 12, 2016 in Wichita Falls. She was born on March 15, 1931 in Wichita, Kansas to the late Harley Ogden and Nellie Bear Ogden. She married Bob Bales who preceded her in death on March 26, 2001.
Dorothy will always be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother (DoDo). She was infamous for her apple dumplings and never missed an opportunity to play poker, bingo or make a trip to the casino. She was known as the fastest dobber in Archer County. Dorothy was affiliated with the Baptist Church and was a retired foreman at P.P.G.
She is survived by her children, Debra Parsons of Wichita Falls, Sandy Stevens and husband Doyle of Odessa and Bob Bales and wife Danna of Holliday; grandchildren, Michelle Twilligear, Melissa Twilligear, Michael Case, Don Johnson and Nathan Bales; 4 great grandchildren; extended family, The Rivera’s.
Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at Crestview Memorial Park with Rev. Chad Stubblefield officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home.
