David H. Webb passed away peacefully at his residence on Wednesday, November 30th, with his wife of 60 years by his side. He was born February 12, 1934 in Santa Anna, Texas. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1953, where he served his country until his retirement in 1974 as a Tech Sergeant E6. He was also employed in the 1970’s for the City of Wichita Falls in the Billing and Water Department.
He was preceded in death by his father Ernest Webb, mother, Myrtle (Lasiter) Dearing, and step-father, Melvin Dearing, two brothers, Gerald and Donald Webb, two sisters, Thressa Webb and Willie Norton and a great grandson, Sterling Webb.
He is survived by his wife, Frieda Mae (Charters) Webb, whom he married on July 26, 1952, and sons Donald Webb and wife Thomasina, Steven Webb, and daughters Brenda Webb and Rebecca Poivre, all of the Wichita Falls area. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, as well as close family friend, David Morris.
In addition to his military service, Mr. Webb was responsible for organizing the “The Red River Wranglers”, a local Winnebago club.
Services will be conducted on Saturday, December 3 at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00 PM with Rev. Bill Pursley of Emmanuel Baptist Church officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Crestview Memorial Park.
Family visitation will be Friday, December 2 from 6:30 to 8:30 P.M.
