Betty Wilhite, 80, of Wichita Falls passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2012. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jim Wilhite officiating. Interment will follow in Crestview Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6:30 until 8:00 Friday evening at the funeral home.
Betty was born in Van Alstyne Texas on June 4, 1931 to Aldine and William “Snow” McLain. She spent much of her youth in Childress Texas, where she was married to Melton Wilhite in 1947. She traveled the country as the wife of a military man. Her sons Charles and David were born in Roswell NM and Chandler Arizona. They lived in Alaska, Florida and moved to Wichita Falls Texas in 1965. They built a house where was still living. She achieved her LVN license and volunteered in several medical offices in Wichita Falls.
She is survived by sons, Charles Wilhite and David Wilhite and his wife Nancy; her significant other of 11 years, Ruben Sanchez; sister, Christine Henson and husband Robert; brother, Jerry McLain and wife Nancy; brother, Bobby McLain; grandchildren, Jason Wilhite and wife Kate, Breann Eden and significant other Brandon; great grandchildren, Joe and Greyson and many extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her late husband Melton.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
