Frank W. Camposano, age 69, of Whiting, NJ passed away unexpectedly on Feb. 23, 2024. He is survived by his wife who was his high school sweetheart, Margaret, two daughters, Lisa and Lauren, son-in-laws, Michael and Andrew, grandchildren, Mia and Jack, granddogs, Denver and Penny, his dear cousin, Lawrence, and his many beloved extended family members.
Frank was born in Brooklyn, NY. He attended Brooklyn Technical High School. He joined the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era where he served over 7 years. He went on to earn his Masters’ degree. He was employed for many years as an electrical engineer and manager at Bell Labs in Holmdel, NJ and AT&T in Middletown, NJ, and later was a small business owner.
He took immense pride in the accomplishments in his children and grandchildren, offering unwavering support and encouragement in all of their endeavors.
He got his ham radio license in 1970 under WN2IYE, then N2BQT, and finally K2IYE. He was a long-time member of JSARS and AARL and was still actively involved in the ham radio community.
He was a Master Mason and was a member of the Masonic lodge in Manhattan. He was a member of Central Jersey Gun Club and was previously a motorcycle instructor for Rider Education of New Jersey in his spare time.
In recent years, he enjoyed reconnecting with Boy Scout Troop #44 and was often found socializing at community events with friends and neighbors. He always had a fresh pair of New Balance sneakers, enjoyed eating ice cream with his grandkids, and loved spoiling his grandpuppies.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 28 from 2 to 4 pm and from 7 to 9 pm at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 115 Lacey Rd, Whiting, NJ. A funeral mass will be offered Thursday, February 29, at 10am from St John’s RC Church, 619 Chestnut St, Lakehurst, NJ 08733. followed by a committal service with Military Honors at 1pm at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Provinceline Road, Wrightstown, NJ. 08652.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in memory of Frank’s father, Frank Camposano Sr.
