He was born on March 18, 1948 in Highland Park, Michigan, to Dana and Eleanor Martin. Michael shared a 54 years of love and companionship with his beloved wife, Cyndi, whom he married on December 26, 1969.
Throughout his life, Michael found joy in various hobbies and passions. He was an avid enthusiast of Ham Radios and radio-controlled airplanes, finding solace and excitement in their operation. However, his greatest joy was found in the simple pleasure of spending time cooking with Cyndi, their kitchen a hub of warmth and shared moments.
A connoisseur of music, particularly classic rock, Michael's soul resonated with the melodic tunes of his favorite bands. He was drawn to instruments with strings, always eager to pick up a guitar or strum a melody on any available instrument. His passion for music extended to his grandchildren, who gave him the affectionate title of “Poppi”, lovingly introducing them to the world of playing instruments.
An adventurous spirit, Michael found delight in exploring the world around him. Notable trips to Italy and Hawaii marked his travels, each journey adding cherished memories to his life's tapestry. Closer to home, he reveled in long weekends spent up north, reveling in the tranquility of nature and the camaraderie of loved ones, often punctuated by visits to wineries and serene sunsets on the lake.
Michael's zest for life was matched only by his infectious sense of humor. He relished in sharing a good joke or magic trick, his laughter lighting up any room he entered.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, survived by his adoring wife Cyndi; his children Tiffany (Paul) Zalac and Joel (Pamela) Martin; and his beloved grandchildren Riley, Nathan, Dane, Cole, and Aurora. Though he has departed this world, his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
A Memorial Visitation for Michael will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2024 from 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm with Memorial Service beginning at 6:00 pm at Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, located at 1233 Union Lake Rd, White Lake, MI 48386.
