She was born on August 1, 1968, in Livonia, Michigan, to her loving parents David and Dolores Johnson.
Kathleen was known for her deep love of animals, particularly horses, cats, and dogs – she was a true cat fanatic. In her youth, she excelled at tennis and maintained a lifelong passion for the sport, especially enjoying watching matches featuring her favorite player, Rafael Nadal. She cherished spending time at her cottage that she shared with her soulmateTony on Mullet Lake in Cheboygan, finding peace and joy in the tranquil surroundings.
Traveling was one of Kathleen's greatest passions, especially when accompanied by her beloved soulmate Tony. Whether cruising the seas or traveling for work, she found immense fulfillment in exploring new places and cultures. Kathleen was also passionate about cooking and considered herself a chef, delighting in hosting guests and sharing her culinary creations.
With a heart as vast as her love for her family and friends, Kathleen was deeply passionate about those she cared for. Her grandchildren affectionately knew her as "Grammy Chou-Chou," a testament to the special bond she shared with them. In her twenties, Kathleen ventured into modeling in London, an experience that enriched her life with adventure and new perspectives.
For the past 17 years, Kathleen shared her life with Tony, her soulmate and constant companion. Together, they embraced life's joys and challenges, creating cherished memories that will endure in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Kathleen is preceded in death by her parents David and Dolores Johnson; and siblings Lance and Delia Johnson. Along with Tony, Kathleen is survived by her children Brandon (Carly) Kolo, Dustin (Katie) Kolo, Brittany (Tommy) Mehrman-Djurasaj, Shane (Daniel) Kolo, Anthony (Brittany) Kolo, and Dakota (Stephanie) Kolo; 13 grandchildren; siblings Stephen (Kelly) Johnson and Diane (William) Kohn; nieces and nephews Kristina (Michel) Boudreau, Derek (Gabriella) Johnson, and Ryanne (Eric) Tomford; 3 great-nieces and 2 great nephews; and her favorite feline companion Riley.
A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday August 18, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM with memorial service beginning at 1:00 PM at Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, located at 1233 Union Lake Rd, White Lake, MI 48386.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Kathleen's honor to the ASPCA.
