Holly Mary Smith

Holly M. Smith of White Lake, formerly of Clark Lake, Michigan passed away March 19, 2017 at 96 years of age. Beloved wife of the late Donald E. Smith. Loving mother and mother-in-law of Carol (David) Stenstrom, Susan (Sean) Whalen and Laura Smith. Treasured grandmother of Todd Sanders, Bob Sanders, Teague Whalen, Kimberly (Cody Pepper) Whalen, Kelly (Mike) Bause, Jennifer (Chris) Gowan, Alexis (Al) DeNato, Grant Smith and Holly (Sam) Smith. Also survived by five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Dale Smith and siblings; Dorothy Bascom, Laura Schorr, Midge Baxter, Bill Heels, Ruth Beech and Friend Heels. Holly was born in Syracuse, N.Y. She moved to Detroit, Michigan in her teens where she completed her schooling including her LPN degree. She worked many years for the State of Michigan with severely challenged children. While residing in Clark Lake, she was active in All Saints Episcopal Church and the American Legion. A private cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at St. George Episcopal Church,801 E. Commerce Street in Milford, Michigan. Memorial contributions suggested to the American Lung Association, ther the Special Olympics or ASPCA.
