The youngest of eight siblings, Blanche (nee Sadowski) was born on March 7, 1925 in Fairhope, PA. She moved to Pontiac, Michigan at an early age and graduated in 1943 as class valedictorian from Pontiac Central High School. After graduation she worked in administration at Pontiac Motor.
Shortly after she met and married the late Leroy (aka "Buzz") Newton who had just returned from active duty in Europe during WWII. They moved from Berkley, Michigan to White Lake Township (Union Lake), Michigan. Buzz, a graduate of Lawrence Institute of Technology, worked 38 years as a tool and die maker at Pontiac Motor.
Raising four children, Blanche was a longtime active parishioner at St. Patrick Catholic Church in White Lake where she often volunteered. And for many years she enjoyed being a White Lake Township election day poll worker.
Blanche and her family also enjoyed many popular southeast Michigan activities. These included Boblo Island and WAlled Lake amusement parks, Belle Isle, Detroit Tiger baseball games, Greenfield Village and Oakland County's many beaches.
Blanche is survived by all four children: Fred, of Waterford, Michigan; Mary of Warren Michigan; Amy (nee Pisani) of Chicago; and Michael of White Lake, as well as loving grandchildren Brian and Amanda.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, October 10, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, located at 1233 Union Lake Rd, White Lake, MI 48386. Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, October 11, 2024 with instate being from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM and mass beginning at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church, located at 9086 Hutchins Rd, White Lake, MI 48386.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Meals on Wheels in Blanche's honor.
