Amelia Rodriguez Escobedo, age 77, of West Bloomfield, Michigan, was born May 8, 1946 in Corpus Christi, Texas, and passed away August 6, 2023 at home. Beloved wife of Elias J. Escobedo Jr. for 57 years. Loving mother of Elias III (Meredith) Escobedo, Jesse (Catherine) Escobedo, and Jessica (Archie) Emmons. Cherished grandmother of Elias Escobedo IV, Alyssa (A.J.) Foyt, Joshua Escobedo, Jayson Escobedo, Deavon (Eric) Larner, and Michael Emmons. Treasured great-grandmother of Abbott Foyt, Arelio Foyt, and Natalie Larner. Dear sister of Lamar (Jacobo) Miramontes, Arturo (the late Sylvia) Rodriguez, Alicia (Omar) Guerrero, and Louis (Kelle) Rodriguez. Proud aunt of many nieces and nephews. Amelia will be missed by numerous other family members and friends. Amelia was preceded in passing by her parents, Ignacio Rodriguez and Ernestina Munoz; her children, Anna and Bernardo Escobedo; and her grandchild, Marcus Emmons.
Amelia, who retired as a secretary from ShindelRock CPA, held a genuine affection for her job throughout her career. Her commitment and passion were evident in her daily tasks, making her an indispensable asset to the company. Beyond her professional dedication, Amelia's love for her family was unwavering, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Her legacy is one of devotion to both her work and her loved ones.
Visitation will be held Thursday, August 10, 2023 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm and Friday, August 11, 2023 from 3:00pm until 8:00pm (Rosary 7:00pm) at the Union Lake Chapel of the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, 1233 Union Lake Road, White Lake. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, August 12, 2023 at 11:00am (In State 10:00am) at Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church, 3700 Commerce Road, Orchard Lake. Burial will be held Monday, August 14, 2023 at 11:00am at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road, Holly.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Solanus Casey Center or the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
