Sharon Darlene Olson was born in Denver on January 27th, 1929, the youngest child of Adam Arwine Todd and Delista Clarice Ross Todd. Adam was a successful furniture salesman in Denver, Colorado who retired to a 150 acre farm in Lyons, Colorado. Delista was known throughout Colorado for her beautiful farm gardens visited by many.
Sharon grew up in Denver and graduated from South High School. She met the love of her life, Victor Albert Olson at a church swimming event, where he knew the beautiful girl in the swimsuit was “the one” and asked her out. When some other suitor asked to take Sharon home, he immediately said, “I’m taking her home.” They had another date at a horseback riding outing.
Sharon knew on their first date that the handsome man in his Army Air Corp uniform was “the one”. They married when he was 21 & she was 18 on October 19th, 1947. They had 6 children in 8-1/2 years. They started an HVAC business and with Sharon’s help, built it into a successful business and a life for the whole family. Vic and Sharon were lifelong Colorado residents. They lived in Aurora, Golden, Green Mountain, Lyons, Denver, and Wheat Ridge, CO.
She and Victor were life-long supporters of the Masons (where she was an Eastern Star) and the Shriners (where she was a Daughter of the Nile). They participated in many Shriner’s parades and volunteered at the annual Shriner’s circus in Denver. They also traveled to almost every continent and loved cruising. They belonged to motorhome clubs and they enjoyed RV-ing.
Sharon Todd Olson is survived by: Her loving children (and spouses): Cherie Kathleen, Steven Victor (Shirley), David Byron (Carol), Gregory Alan (Terri), James Michael (Sandy), and Paul Albert (Karen) Olson;9 grandchildren: Charity (Brian) Harvat, Kathy, Christopher (Kristin), Jameson, Jarred (Michaela), Samantha, Daniel, Matthew (Dana), Adam (Anne-Sophie) Olson; 9 Great Grandchildren: Adison, Alec, Aiden, and Ava Harvat, Olivia Cates, Brielle, Samuel, Lucas, Emory Olson and numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.
Sharon is preceded into glory by her husband, her parents, her siblings and their spouses Marguerite Laverne Todd (Bill) Moores, Ross Adrian (Alicia), and Adam Byron (Joyce) Todd, grandson Tyler Alan Olson, and granddaughter Tara Faith Olson Cates.
