He was born on November 23, 1938 in Sasakwa, Oklahoma to Raymond and (Mable) Eileen Casey.
Rod graduated from Newcastle High School, Wyoming in 1958 then continued at the University of Wyoming, Laramie. He married Lynette Dora Casey in 1977 in Denver, CO. They have two children Shaun (44) and Shallon (45).
Rod is survived by wife, Lynette (Freese) Casey; children, Matt and Shallon (Casey) Daniel of Broomfield, Colorado, and Shaun and Aisling (Toal) Casey of Centennial, Colorado; sibling Donna (Casey) Rank of Excelsior Springs, Missouri; grandchildren Lochlann (12), Courtney (12), Madison(10), Tiernagh (3). He is preceded in death by parents, Raymond Johnie Casey and Mable Eileen Casey of Newcastle, Wyoming, and sister Shirley Casey of Sasakwa, Oklahoma.
His children remember him as a kind, gentle, patient, and loving father and grandfather who encouraged them to pursue their goals. He loved watching his grandchildren excel in all of their various activities from Irish dancing, to hockey, soccer, softball, baseball and piano.
Viewing will be at Crown Hill Mortuary on Feb 19th from 5-7pm and Tuesday February 20 from 1:45-2:45. Graveside service will be Tuesday Feb 20th from 3:00-3:30pm at Crown Hill Cemetery with a Celebration of Life reception from 4-7pm on Tuesday Feb 20th at Fox Hollow Golf Course. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Rod’s life.
