Uncle Dick and Auntie Pee Wee were always two of my favorite people.   I've always remembered the summer they joined our family at Lake Vallecito for camping and fishing. Uncle Dick spent time with me teaching me how to fish, I had so much fun when we went out in the boat and he taught me to fish from a boat.  Uncle Dick was a very special man, kind, patient and funny.  He will be missed. It will be a happy day when I see you again. 

I have been so very blessed to have known you for 16 years. From the very beginning, you welcomed me as a part of the family. Throughout these past years, we have created great memories together. I learned of yours and Della's travel adventures and the people you met along the way. We have also shared so much laughter, especially when you and Kevin talked about Colorado sports teams (haha). I can just hear your voice, talking about the Bronco's coaching or the Rockies management. I also witnessed the joy of you getting to meet and experience your grandchildren. You were a wonderful grandfather, Addison and Jackson love you so much and will miss you dearly. Most importantly, I have also gotten a glimpse of the man who raised my husband and made him who he is today. I will treasure these moments forever. 

Dick was the very best winter driver. On a wonderful trip to Yellowstone National Park in January  2011, I-25 and I-90 were both open, but treacherous. He navigated them patiently and skillfully while keeping us calm. 

We loved when Aunt PeeWee and Uncle Dick came to Arizona for Spring training or just traveling and visiting around the state.  We would have them over for dinner and a visit. We really loved all their stories. Dick and Lee could keep the conversation going with football, baseball etc.  Then every time a Denver game would be on tv we would think about them. Sometimes Aunt PeeWee would text about the game, especially if they were winning. Haha. I’m so happy we were able to visit them and have dinner in July 2021.  Til we meet again Dick. Love to all!!!

Dear Grandpa D, I remember the times when you and Grandma D took care of me at your house. We had very many fun adventures together. I remember going to the Aquarium and sometimes just spending time with you at your house. One of my favorite memories is when we just sat together and watched a National Geographic show about Penguins. I will really miss spending time with you. I love you Grandpa D. - Addie

Richard, Rich, RL, Dick, Dad.  You went by many names, but we all knew who you were. You were a smart, industrious, caring, stubborn man who always put family first. You taught Kevin and I to explore, care for others, and be the true to ourselves. 

I will forever appreciate the time we spent together. We chopped wood, caught fish, skied, wrenched, laughed, and enjoyed solving the woes of Colorado sports teams. Thank you for shaping me into the person I am, and being the cornerstone of our Dickerson clan. You'll be missed, but I will find you on the streams, in the hills, and everywhere else we created memories.  

Mom threw a Murder Mystery Dinner for my 30th birthday. Dad was the "murder victim" and Perry was the Sheriff. In this photo the Sheriff has just arrived on scene and is trying to document the evidence. Dad absolutely did not want to lay on the floor so the Sheriff had to improvise. We had alot of fun that night and the "victim's" unwillingness to lay down and be still always comes up in conversations.

Dad taught Perry and I how to ski at a young age. Although I eventually switched to snowboarding and Perry graduated to (freeheel) telemark skiing, Dad's passion for the outdoors lives on through us today. Here we are decked out in our winter gear and Dad is setting the tone for the day with his serious gaze.

Dad certainly loved his grand kids and they love him too. Here he is tickling Addison when she was a baby. 

Fishing was a big part of Dad's life. He taught Perry and I how to fish as soon as we were able to walk. This was a great day fly fishing in the San Juan River just up the street from the cabin in Pagosa Springs CO.

Mom and Dad were married on October 7th 1972 at Jefferson Avenue United Methodist Church in Wheat Ridge CO.

I miss you already Dad. You always put your family first and supported us in every adventure we could imagine. You taught Perry and I how to fish, ski, fix things, and enjoy life. Your rants and raves during professional sporting events are legendary. You can rest easy now. We will see each other again someday.
