Rex was born on March 9 in Denver, Colorado. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend who was loved by all. He was a retired Naval Officer of 21 years. During his time in the Navy he served on the White House staff. Following his military career he attended Regis University for a degree in education and went on to teach kindergarten, third and fifth grade for 21 years. Rex loved the outdoors including camping, fishing and hiking. Other hobbies included reading, bingo and keeping the cars clean. He was a very loving, giving and caring man who loved the Lord, he always put others before himself. Rex also had a good sense of humor, there was always laughter.
Rex is survived by his wife of 21 years Carrie Walls; four sons: Ryan (Danielle) Hoy, Shawn Hoy, Jack Walls and Sebastian (Kailey) Walls; five daughters: Tuesday Troy, Tanya (Chris) Gopalan, Diana (Robert) Jacobs, Sabrina Walls and Hope Walls; 18 grandchildren: Sloan, Britnee, Necole, Briana, Kirstin, Tanner, Preston, Riley, Malin, Kaleb, Christian, Kylie, Isabelle, Ellie, Maddison, Marcus, DeMarcus and Elena; two great grandchildren Aaliyah and Mason and siblings Karen (Larry) Nelson and Gary Walls.
He was preceded in death by his parents Rex and Leona Walls, brother Len Tweden and infant daughter Tammie Walls.
