Rebecca Elise Wilkinson

Rebecca was born July 28, 1966, to Karen and Lloyd Dunaway of Walden, Colorado. She grew up on a cattle ranch where she enjoyed riding her favorite spirited horse, Jack. Rebecca was an active member of 4-H from showing steers, sheep, and horses, and holding leadership roles. Rebecca loved attending rodeos and representing North Park as rodeo royalty on her beloved Jack.

Rebecca graduated from North Park High School class of 1984. She was active in High School playing volleyball and cheerleading. After graduating, she spent time in Fort Collins but ended up calling Golden her home for many years. Rebecca married Bud Wilkinson and had two children: Calee and Troy. Rebecca was always the first to volunteer for PTA and her kid’s classroom projects and parties.

She transferred her love and knowledge of horses onto her daughter through Westernaires. Rebecca was so proud to be a horse Mom and involved in her kid’s life through dance, baseball, preschool board chairman, church usher and many other causes.

One of her most cherished loves was making each of her children’s milestones special celebrations complete with delicious home-made meals and perfectly selected gifts. Rebecca loved cooking and hosting holiday dinners for family and friends and was a great hostess who made all feel welcome. Rebecca was the perfect mixture of a North Park Rodeo Queen, 4-H Champion ranch girl, and an elegant, sophisticated city girl.

Rebecca enjoyed planning trips and traveling with family and friends. Rebecca loved Las Vegas where she visited often. Rebecca attended college at Sterling, Colorado State, and Metro State where she studied Fashion Design.

Rebecca is survived by her children, Calee and Troy, her husband Bud, her sister Rachel, her brother, Lance, as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
