Raymond J. Ecker (80) of Longmont, CO passed away September 6, 2013, and was preceded in death by his loving wife Judith A. Ecker (72) on September 5, 2013. Raymond was born to Angelina (Amato) Ecker and C. James Ecker on August 17, 1933 in Denver Colorado. Judith was the daughter of Reba and George Lowe, born June 29, 1941 in Denver Colorado. Ray is survived by his sons Mark (Wrentham, MA) and Cary (Duvall, WA), their wives Rhonda (Wrentham) and Regina (Duvall). Judy is survived by her son Todd Bedsaul (Denver, CO), sister Catharine and brother-in-law Steven Schmidt of Lakewood, CO.
Ray and Judy married in August 20, 1987, a second marriage for both. A more happy couple could not be found, as they embraced life traveling the open road in search of nature's grand vistas. Ray was an avid fisherman and Judy loved animals of any kind – especially bears and owls. Judy graciously opened her home and her heart to animals in need of shelter and care. Prior to retirement, Judy enjoyed her dedicated work with Lutheran Medical Center (Denver) and Ray had a long career in the freight industry and Colorado real estate. Ray graduated from West High School (Denver) and honorably served as a US Army Corporal in Korea. Upon returning home, Ray attended the University of Colorado as an economics major. Judy graduated from North High School (Denver) and attended Colorado State University.
Ray and Judy will be remembered for their love of life and the unending support they provided to family and friends.
