Pauline Louise Flowers, wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 18, 2020 at the age of 95. Pauline was born on March 30, 1925 in English Consul, Maryland to John Joseph Weigand and Bertha Miller Weigand. She was one of five children, which included a twin sister.
Pauline married her best friend, James Pettus “Pete” Flowers on January 30, 1944 and lived in Hoopers Island, Maryland. While on the island, the couple had two children, Joan and James. In 1956, Pauline and Pete relocated to Colorado where they would spend their lives together. After arriving in Colorado, the couple welcomed two more children, Joseph and Paula.
For more than 60 years, Pauline built a loving home in Commerce City, Colorado, where she would always welcome family and friends. Pauline was a wonderful homemaker and later in life, worked in food services with School District 14 in Commerce City. Pauline was always an active and dedicated member at her church and regularly volunteered her time at the Commerce City Senior Center. When she was not volunteering, Pauline could be found playing cards, working on needle point or cheering on her grandchildren at their sporting events. She was known for her creativity, generosity and strong will.
Pauline was blessed with a large and loving family and is survived by her Children; James Flowers and Paula (Chuck) Baker, Grandchildren: Ronnie Fiske, Mary Fiske, Shannon (Brian) Flowers-Watts, CJ Flowers, Melissa (Ryan) Higgins, Dalton Baker, Alexandria Baker, Jessica Baker, Great-grandchildren; Jamie Fiske (Adam Sigg), Breanna Fiske (Donovan Lewis), Savannah, Caden & Addisyn Watts, Teia & Ty Sullivan, Charlie Baker, Kaci Higgins and Great-Great-Grandchildren; Colt & Kamrie Sigg.
Pauline is preceded in death by her husband, James “Pete” Flowers of Commerce City, CO; daughter, Joan Flowers Telea of Thornton, CO; son, Joseph Flowers of Denver, CO; grandson, Duston “Dusty” Fiske of Westminster, CO; as well as her 4 siblings and parents.
A private family viewing and funeral service will be held at Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary & Cemetery in Wheat Ridge, CO. Pauline’s family plans to celebrate her life with her family and many friends at a later date.
