Nancy Lee (Baker) Jones was born on September 11, 1944, to Herbert Zibe Baker & Opal Lorene (Allen) Baker in Colorado Springs, CO. She was the oldest of six children. Her siblings are Judy Shaw, Jerry Baker, Keith Baker, Carol Helm & Randy Baker. She grew up in the San Luis Valley in Monte Vista, Colorado were Nancy married the love of her life Duane Howard Jones on February 1st, 1962. They shared 60+ years of marriage, three sons: Jeffrey Howard Jones, Phillip Lee Jones & Alan Wade Jones. Three daughters-in-law: Toni Jones, Christine Jones & Tina Jones. Eight grandchildren: Talina Jones, Jennifer Davis, Kayla Jones, Phillip (PJ) Jones, Wade Jones, Tabetha Jones, Alayna Wise & Lynzie Jones. Twelve great-grandchildren: Taylor Jones, Tyler Jones, Joshua Jones, Kylee Jones, Bradlee Jones, Killian Davis, Lincoln Jones, Dawson Jones, Walker Davis, Greyson Denny, Juiliana Jones & Hunter Jones.
They moved to Denver in 1967. Nancy retired from Cobe Laboratories/Sorin after 36 years. She started in Production but moved to Quality Control – Receiving inspecting parts as they came in to be used to build medical devices & systems for handling blood outside the body. Nancy had a green thumb & loved to garden. Her hobbies were crocheting, baking, sewing, crafting, traveling & camping. The annual family fish fries were epic. She loved sharing a meal, a glass of wine with family and friends on their back patio. All were welcome in her home. “The more the merrier” she would say. Nancy loved her family, had a servant heart to help anyone. A great sense of humor, an infectious smile & laugh, a bit of orneriness and a vibrant personality.
She passed in peaceful slumber on October 10, 2022. She is proceeded in death by her parents and survived by her siblings, husband, children, grandchildren & great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all.
