He was born to Ronald “Wayne” and Gloria Cordova on June 17, 1958 in Denver, Colorado. After graduating from Englewood High School in 1976, he served in the Colorado Army National Guard for six years and was honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant E5 on May 31, 1983. He married Nancy Colburn on January 9, 1982 and together they raised three children: Patrick (Summer), Phillip, and Christina (Cameron).
Mike was skilled as an electric meterman, and worked for Xcel Energy for 38 years. Following his retirement, he devoted his time, effort, and energy to his family and church community at Holy Name parish, where he passionately volunteered and lived out his Catholic Faith. Mike’s greatest joys were helping others, telling jokes, and spending time with his seven grandchildren (Braeden, Shaylea, Bennett, Justin, Liam, Caleb Cordova and Carter Call).
Mike was predeceased by his father and his sister Joan M. Morgan (Ron). He is survived by his mother and three sisters: Helen, Denise, and Marian, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
The viewing will begin at 5:45 PM prior to the rosary vigil service to be held on Thursday June 15, 2023 at 6:30 PM at Holy Name Catholic Parish, 3290 W. Milan Ave., Sheridan, CO. The funeral mass will be on Friday June 16, 2023 at 10 AM at Holy Name Catholic Parish, followed by a reception. The burial will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery at a later date.
