Marvin Wesley VanDerPol was born July 16, 1944 to Harold and Henrietta (Franje) VanDerPol at home near Monroe, Iowa. Marvin loved growing up on the farm with two brothers and across the road from his grandparents. Marvin graduated from Pella Christian High School and married Francene Jansen on May 3, 1968. After spending a year living in Rock Island, IL they moved to Denver, CO where Marvin attended and graduated from Metropolitan State College with an accounting degree and additional hours toward his masters from Regis University. Marvin’s professional career was in accounting and finance.
Thru the years working for different companies gave him a broad range of accounting and finance experience as well as gaining many lasting friendships. One particular friend introduced him to the art skill and adventure of fly fishing---this passion would last for the rest of his life.
Marvin's weekends were devoted to family time. Christian values created a good foundation for our children, Brian and Rhonda. Camping, fishing, jeeping or hiking with the family created a lifetime of memories.
Marvin faced the challenge of cancer for over 10 years, he is survived by his wife, Fran (Littleton, CO); son Brian (Denver, CO); daughter Rhonda (Englewood, CO); two grandsons and two great grandchildren as well as Brother John (Sharon) VanDerPol; Brother-in-laws Darrell (Diana) Jansen, Bryce (Sally) Jansen and Sister-in-law Jane Jansen and many relatives, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Our family would like to thank everyone all for the cards, the visits, the telephone calls, the memories, and especially the prayers.
John 13:34b: Love one another as I have loved you, so you must love one another.
