Marilyn Sylvia Montoya (Lopez) passed away on April 10, 2024, in Lafayette, Colorado, at the age of 77. She was born on April 13, 1946, in Denver, Colorado. Marilyn was a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and dear friend.
Marilyn had a deep love and devotion for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, her family takes great comfort in that fact.
Marilyn's family meant everything to her and she especially treasured spending time with them. She enjoyed family gatherings, cooking delicious meals, a good movie or game show and the simple moments spent together in the company of her family or friends. She had an incredible memory and remembered every birthday of every family member and friend without fail.
For the last 10 plus years, Marilyn worked as a Purchase Coordinator for a busy restaurant supply company. She found joy in her work and cherished the relationships she built with her colleagues. Marilyn continued working until January of 2024.
Marilyn is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. She will be deeply missed by her loving husband, Marvin Montoya, whom she was married to for 56 years, her children Marisa Montoya-Babirad (Daughter), Michael Babirad (Son-in-Law), Haley Younger (Grand Daughter), Denise Satele (Daughter), Tapumanaia Satele, (Son-in-Law), Dominic Satele (Grandson), Tama Satele (Grandson), Carolyn Montoya (Daughter), Terry Jefferson (Son-in-Law), Desirae Soto (Grand Daughter), Leo Soto (Spouse), Angel Soto (Great Grandson), Evan Soto (Great Grandson), Duke Soto (Great Grandson), Mason Soto (Great Grandson), Jordyn Montoya-Jefferson (Grand Daughter), Brooklyn Montoya-Jefferson (Grand Daughter) Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Antonia Lopez.
A memorial service to honor Marilyn's life will be held on Friday, April 26th, at 2 pm at Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary and Cemetery, located at 7777 West 29th, Wheatridge, CO 80033, in the glass pavilion near the east entrance of 29th and Wadsworth. A reception will follow from 3:30 to 5:30 pm at 1295 S. Reed Street, Lakewood, CO, at the Lakewood Link Recreation Center.
