LeRoy was born on October 8, 1931 in Putnam Township, Fayette County, Iowa. His parents were, Vivian W. (Gable, Moser) Steele and Harry E. Moser. He grew up on a farm, graduated from high school and, at the age of 20, enlisted in the United States Air Force.
One of his first overseas assignments was to Munich, Germany, where he met his future wife, Liese. Together, after many assignments and four children (Gary, Lucy, Roy and Brenda), LeRoy and Liese ended up at Lowry Air Force Base in Denver, Colorado.
LeRoy became an instructor at the Munitions Technical Training School and taught for several years. He served two tours in Vietnam, returning to Lowry after each tour. He was a man who could put you at ease and to whom many people would just open up to. A gentle man who knew how to listen to young and old alike, a friend to all.
LeRoy retired from the Air Force after 21 years of service but continued to reside in Aurora, Colorado, working for Yellow Freight for many more years until he fully retired to enjoy life. A beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, uncle, and mentor.
He was preceded in death by his son, LeRoy C. Moser ll, and grandson, Karl V. Gianelloni. LeRoy passed away peacefully at home on April 27, 2023.
LeRoy is survived by his wife, Liese Moser, of Aurora, Colorado, son, Gary L. Moser, of Westminster, Colorado, daughters, Lucy (Moser) Gianelloni of Plaquemine, Louisiana, and Brenda (Moser) Grossman of North Las Vegas, Nevada, brother, Ronald Moser of Arlington, Iowa, 6 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.
