Lanetta D Gray

Lanetta D. Gray of Wheat Ridge, Colorado passed away July 7, 2023, at Mountain Vista Nursing facility with daughter Linda and son Gary at her side. Lanetta was born September 13th, 1934, in Spencer, Iowa to Thomas Norris and Verna (Vanderhoff) Norris.

As a child Lanetta’s family moved to Trenton Mo where Lanetta graduated from Trenton High School. She then met and married Dale Gray and they had three children: Linda, Larry, and Gary. Lanetta and Dale moved to Kansas City, Mo, after their divorce in 1965 she raised her three children on her own. Lanetta and her three children moved to Denver, Colorado in 1969, where her brother resided.

Lanetta worked for AT&T Long Lines, Russell Stover’s candy in Kansas City. When she moved to Colorado she worked for Jolly Rancher Candy in Arvada, Co and JetX (which manufactured car wash wands) in Denver, Co.; she also worked for the Heart Association in Denver in their call center. She retired at the age of 62.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her two brothers (Darrell and Verlin), and her eldest son (Larry). She was survived by her daughter Linda and son Gary, both of Wheat Ridge, Colorado.

The family would like to thank Denver Hospice who in the last three months of her life were involved in supporting the family and Lanetta on her journey to the end of her life. Lanetta resided at Mountain Vista Nursing facility in Wheat Ridge those last months. We also want to thank the facility there for the care she got from the resident Nurses and CNAs.

There will be closed Memorial services for family will be held Wednesday July 19th .
