“Wife, fashionsita, runner, fly fisherman, sister, lung cancer advocate, daughter, artist, oncologist, writer, crazy chicken lady, animal lover, friend, champion, cheerleader of others, and the ultimate underdog”
Kim received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from Colorado State University then completed an internship at Kansas State University where she met her soul mate Davin, followed by a medical oncology residency at the University of Missouri from 2007-2010. She then practiced in Denver, Colorado at VRCC as a veterinary oncologist from 2010 until her diagnosis in 2013.
She fought a 4-year battle against stage IV non-small cell lung cancer, with grace and tenacity. During this time, Kim not only advocated for herself and was very active in her medical treatment options; passionately encouraging others to think out of the box. She was an inspiration for other lung cancer survivors to do the same. Kim was the most vibrant person that could light up any room with her infectious smile and has truly changed the face of lung cancer.
Kim's memorial service will be held on Monday June 12th 2017 at 11:00 am with reception to follow at Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary & Cemetery located at 7777 W. 29th Avenue, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033.
