Kenneth John McCorkle

reaching the age of 70 years old and courageously battling 20 years of failing health due to

Parkinson’s disease. He died peacefully at the life care Center of Aurora while in the company of

his beloved wife Patricia by his side.

Ken was born on October 7, 1949 in Denver Colorado. He was adopted as a baby by James Everett

and Lucille Julia McCorkle. As a boy he grew up in Denver Colorado, he enjoyed a wonderful

childhood, spending time with family on various outings and camping trips. He was a Boy Scout,

and dreamt about being a pilot although he was a old wild wild wild west cowboy firstly at heart.

He often spoke of the thrill of watching airplanes fly into the old Lowry airfield and hanger as a

boy while his father directed air travel.

As a very young man he learned to be responsible and work diligently on goals. He played the

trumpet in junior high, high school and the junior police after graduating; he even led his own

ensemble. He was very dexterous early on, after getting his first car in H.S., which was excited

about, he began doing his own engine repairs. After completing ROTC at the end of high school he

joined the Colorado national guard in 1989 and served in the military police receiving many

accreditations and honorably finishing his term as ranked Major. After leaving the guard he worked

as an EMT later on becoming a firefighter and arson investigator he finally retired as an electrician

from ADK Electric in 2011.

During those years in 1995, at age 45 he also met Ana Patricia Marroquin, who he courted and

married on December 18, 1998. They enjoyed 25 long happy years together until his recent passing

at age 70. He’s been a exemplary father figure and helped in loving, supporting and raising his step

children; grandchildren and a wonderful uncle to his nieces.

Ken loved wartime and American history, a history buff; he held an impressive collection of

articles, curious memorabilia and great memory of stories which he loved to recount ( Inc, his

family and settlement history). He loved visiting old mining towns, riding old railroads and sharing

his love for nature; eating buffalo or barbecue were also among his favorite! He was also a lover of

music and would not miss an opportunity to attend The Scottish Irish festival, A tattoo, watch a

military marching band accompanied by symphony or see a broadway musical.

During every holiday, it was a custom to huddle the family together to enjoy a nice family dinner

and gathering with his mother and sister; priceless happy times that will be missed and always be

remembered.

Ken was a very sensible, patient big hearted man who took care of his family, watched over their

needs and did the very best he could to teach them and guide them. He was a man who in the end

never cared much about himself and who even in his final days wanted to make sure his

grandchildren and family were doing well and would say, “I want you all and momma to be ok.”

He was a strong, proud, good man; a father, grandfather, brother, In law and uncle who is dearly

loved and will be greatly missed by many.

Survivors include his three step kids Neymi, Patty and John. His five grandchildren: Isaac, Analeis,

Anabella, Nicki and Ashley. His sister Corki Kempton and husband. Terri and Sue; his two

adoring nieces. He was proceeded in death by his wife, Ana.

Funeral Services will be held Friday October 18th at Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary and

Cemetery Chapel. 7777 W. 29th Ave in Wheat Ridge, CO. Services will be officiated by Michael

Jones, Elder from the Jehovah Witnesses Congregation.
