Jo Anne Fain, age 84, of Westminster, Colorado passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2024. Born in Oklahoma City in 1939 and spending most of her life there, Jo Anne learned to play the piano at an early age, and music was always an important part of her life. After her three children were grown, she became the leader of a Big Band named "The Danforth Dandees" that played "Music From the Past" at nursing homes and other locations for over 15 years.
She also volunteered at many organizations including the DBSA (Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance), and she brought a unique perspective as someone who experienced depression and bipolar disorder herself.
As a religious person, Jo Anne was an active member of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Edmond for many years.
She loved reaching out and sending cards and notes to friends and family, and she always sealed the envelopes with delightfully festive stickers enjoyed by all.
Jo Anne loved animals, especially cats, and she had several feline companions she cherished deeply throughout her life.
Jo Anne was preceded in death by her daughter Barbara.
Jo Anne is survived by her brother Stan Kimball and his wife Sally, son Brett Blevins, daughter Bonnye Blevins, nieces Sara Kimball and Sharon Kimball, nephew Scott Kimball and his wife Melissa and their son Cole.
A Celebration of Life in Jo Anne's memory will take place at a later date.
The family requests that remembrances be made in the form of charitable donations "In Memory of Jo Anne Fain" to the DBSA (www.dbsalliance.org) or the Humane Society of the United States (www.humanesociety.org).
